Atlas Copco tests the performance of the portable air compressors under all conditions. They undergo tests in freezing and tropical hot temperatures, and in the rain. Their resistance to rust and salt is also tested, since the units are used outside on construction sites, but also on ships or drilling platforms. The machines are taken for some road tests, to ensure they can be transported to every location you can imagine and the lifting beams are subjected to a strength test. A test unit gets pushed to it limits in a lab to see what tensile forces it can withstand. By doing these various tests, Atlas Copco guarantees the robustness of the chassis, the canopy and all used components. 

Atlas Copco's portable air compressors are built to sustainably perform at any location you can image. They are used high up in the mountains up to 5000 meters, in different temperatures down to -20°C or up to +50°C,  in humid underground tunnels or at platforms in the middle of the sea. The smart and robust design of the units keeps the dust and other contaminants outside ensuring a long-lasting lifetime. Besides, all unites have built-in safety features that automatically shut down the motor if the unit is overloaded, to prevent damage or injury to the user. They also have thermal protection and a pressure relief valve to automatically release excess pressure.
