ECOTS Plus Tuboexpander

In 2011, the company introduced ECOTS (Expander-Compressor Off-The-Shelf), a collection of pre-engineered expander-compressor packages with custom optimized aerodynamic designs, into the natural gas processing marketplace. Skid-mounted, the original ECOTS standard had a lube-oil bearing system, plus the familiar controls and instrumentation, factory testing, and compressor anti-surge system. Further configurations were available, such as winterization and performance testing.

The latest addition to the company's product line is ECOTS Plus, designed with a keen eye on both current and future markets. Having achieved success in the USA domestic Gas Processing markets with the first generation of ECOTS equipment, Atlas Copco has refined ECOTS Plus for wider international acceptance.

Key features include compatibility with either 50 or 60 Hz. power supplies, and compliance with IEC or NEC electrical design specifications. ECOTS Plus sets itself apart with its reduced physical footprint compared to the original ECOTS. It features a newly available instrument and control system that enables remote monitoring. The original Alan Bradley PLC control system also remains as an available option.

The optimized performance of ECOTS Plus, coupled with features such as no risk of oil leakage from pumps, 40%-50% footprint reduction, and improved delivery times compared to custom-engineered units, has helped to secure its place in the market. ECOTS Plus is designed to meet both today's process needs and those of the future.

As an option, the ECOTS product line now offers a magnetic-bearing configuration, ECOTS-M, which combines the traditional benefits of ECOTS with an oil-free bearing technology.
