Tool localization in modern assembly is becoming increasingly important in order to flexibly and safely master the constantly expanding product mix. To this end, it is imperative to adhere to predefined work areas and assembly sequences.
Battery tools offer more flexibility at the assembly workplace with their cordless freedom of movement. Unfortunately, since they can also be used outside their intended working areas, it can also happen that the wrong components are assembled together with the wrong tightening parameters. The use of cable tools without intelligent and data-based monitoring can be just as prone to error because control over the tightening sequence or the orientation of the tool to the component is lost. Assembly errors and quality problems can be the result. This is particularly explosive in the case of safety-critical Class A bolted joints, for example, if a complete product recall should become necessary.
Goals:
Learn in our new on demand webinar "Tool localization in practice" how you can master the challenges described above with intelligent localization solutions and retain full control over your processes.
Benefits:
Today, we see a steadily increasing product mix in manufacturing industries that requires more flexibility in your production. Battery tools are generally a good solution to gain this flexibility.
One challenge with battery tools is that they are not physically tied to a specific station and can be moved around freely in production: This can cause workers to make mistakes, such as working on the wrong product and/or at the wrong area in the production/line.
We would like to show you possible solutions from practice and discuss them in particular with regard to the following questions:
- How do you ensure that your tool is only used within its permitted working range?
- How do you tie it to a specific work sequence in the correct area
- How can you prevent the worker from making mistakes?
