Introducing the H2-45 power generator: 100% emission-free energy
Next to diesel-driven Power Modules -compliant with the stringiest regulatory guidelines – Atlas Copco Rental adds hydrogen-powered generators to its fleet. While we are not the first to implement H2-technology in the Rental market, and most certainly not the last, we are doing it our way.
Our H2-45 is a 45 kWautonomous power generator and operates 100% on hydrogen, which brings emissions down to the lowest possible number: ZERO. The unit, equipped with a weatherproof and sound reducing canopy, can withstand harsh outdoor conditions and operate in low emission zones.
While electricity is the tip of the spear in the global green energy transition, its source is often discussed. That is where hydrogen-based solutions come in. No more debatable ecological decisions or energy/fuel sources. The H2-45 is ideal for applications such as short-term or mobile off-grid electric vehicle charging stations, powering (outdoor) events, urban construction site applications, and many, many more. While hydrogen will eventually be the fuel of choice, it is often regarded as a byproduct in many plants and industries. By aligning energy consumption with on-site H2 generation and storage, an evolution to cost-competitiveness can be guaranteed and sustainability goals exceeded. With the H2-45, we can assist anyone looking to transition away from traditional fuels by demonstrating the benefits, even on a smaller scale, with our short- or long-term Rental Solution.
The H2-45 has been conceived, engineered, and developed in-house by the Atlas Copco Rental Europe Concept Lab. Engineering and ingenuity at its finest. While electric-driven solutions are becoming increasingly important, it’s essential to keep looking ahead. With this new unit in our fleet, we are doing just that. The H2-45 prototype is in its final stage of construction and preliminary testing. We will proceed with vigorous in-the-field testing to measure runtime, parameters, and performance in the upcoming weeks. As well as safety features and basic functionality. At that point, we will proceed to the final production units.
