Atlas Copco Group Partners with the Manufacturing Institute’s Women Make America initiative
Supporting and Inspiring Women in the Manufacturing Industry
Atlas Copco Group is proud to announce a new partnership with the Manufacturing Institute’s (MI) Women Make America initiative, supporting the national 35x30 campaign to increase the number of women in manufacturing roles from 29% to 35% by 2030. Doing so will add half a million women to the manufacturing industry and increase the number of innovative and diverse contributions across the sector.
Atlas Copco will support this initiative through a variety of networking events, while looking to grow its mentorship program and ultimately provide candidates with a range of opportunities to help them gain experience and build a successful and rewarding career in manufacturing.
Atlas Copco Group has a very clear set of goals and initiatives when it comes to diversity, especially around bringing more women into manufacturing roles.” said Aaron Prato, Vice-President Holding, Atlas Copco North America. “We have worked with the Manufacturing Institute for several years and this is a program we are really excited to support and be part of their phenomenal work and growth.
As we look to combat the skills gap and help companies fill many of the more than 600,000 open manufacturing jobs in the U.S. today, closing the gender cap is key toward finding the next generation of talent,” said MI National Director of Women’s Engagement Isabelle Powell. “Thanks to the contribution from Atlas Copco Group and their ongoing efforts to recruit young women and women reentering the workforce, we are making strides toward our goal of growing the number of women in our industry.
The MI grows and supports the manufacturing industry’s skilled workers for the advancement of modern manufacturing. The MI’s diverse initiatives support all workers in America, including women, veterans and students, through skills training programs, community building and the advancement of their career in manufacturing. As the workforce development and education partner of the National Association of Manufacturers, the MI is a trusted adviser to manufacturers, equipping them with resources necessary to solve the industry’s toughest challenges.
