Achieving high availability of your compressed air equipment is the best way to ensure maximum performance and maximum lifetime out of the machinery. This means getting the maximum lifetime out of your components without risking breakdowns or increasing energy consumption. It also means keeping service time down to a minimum.
How do we achieve this?
All equipment covered with the Availability Guarantee is fitted with our SMARTlink remote monitoring solution and equipped with the Uptime and Energy SMARTlink licence. Thanks to SMARTlink, we keep an eye on machine parameters that have an impact on component lifetime: these include running hours, load/ unload ratio and behaviour, ambient conditions, oil temperatures, pressure and many more.
This gives us insights to know exactly when it is time to replace the components to achieve continued reliable performance. Atlas Copco’s diagnostic experts continuously analyse data using artificial intelligence and smart algorithms, and we can predict and prevent failures. Then we proactively take care of any issues during our next planned preventive maintenance visit. As a result, we avoid breakdowns and additional stoppages of your compressed air system. We stay ahead of any problems that might occur so we can keep your compressed air uptime at the maximum possible level.
At any time, you have access to Uptime figures in Atlas Copco’s SMARTlink portal and can see exactly what we are seeing.
Availability = percentage of continuous time (*) in which the compressor is able to run (run = deliver air)
- Available time = time that the air compressor has one of following statuses: load, unload, stop
- Unavailable time = time that machine is in shutdown (+ time without communication after shutdown)
- So unavailable time starts as soon as the compressor goes into shutdown and only ends when the shutdown cleared status is communicated: this occurs when shutdown reset is executed (the compressor needs to be communicating)
- (*) we only consider the time that the compressor had communication: ensure that if we lose communication after a shutdown, we continue to consider this as communication time (part of “total time considered”).
- No specification on the quality of the air delivered.
What will a customer experience during an Availability Guarantee agreement?
During the term of the Availability Guarantee agreement, as well as unscheduled repair work on the listed components, Atlas Copco will include a visit from one of our energy consultants to discuss SMARTlink operational reports during the first year of the agreement. This will provide additional security to our pledge and an opportunity to discuss optimisation and energy savings options tailored to your compressed air system.
If the availability of an air compressor is below the agreed limit of 98%, you will receive a credit. The credit is made at the end of the respective service plan year.
