BST saves $ 10,000 /y with oil-free air compressors
Many of the world’s surgeons and clinical staff rely on medical gloves made from the polybutadiene rubber and styrene butadiene rubber produced in Amata City, Thailand by BST Specialty Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Bangkok Synthetics Co. The company, in turn, relies on a highly efficient production operation, at the heart of which are two Atlas Copco oil-free air compressors, helping the factory to produce 4,000-6,000 tons of products per year.
In 2012, chemical manufacturer BST Specialty Co., Ltd. (BSTS) decided to open a new production line that would require two additional compressor units. After meeting with our compressor experts. BSTS chose two ZR 75 FF oil-free compressors and achieved significant energy savings as a result. The two 90 kW oil-free screw compressors would operate in tandem: one compressor driving the production, while the other would be used as a backup. Both compressors would run with heatless dryer units under a pressure dew point (PDP) of -40 °C.
ZR 75 FF with integrated dryer for plant air and instrument air
Atlas Copco (Thailand) Ltd., recommended a ZR 75 FF with an integrated dryer for plant air and instrument air because it offers extreme reliability and high efficiency even under the harshest conditions. The ZR 75FF compressor is an all-inclusive, plug-and-play package for easy, low-cost installation and quick startup.
The ZR 75 FF only requires the amount of energy for an 80 kW air compressor and dryer with a PDP of -10 °C. Compared to the competitor’s 90 kW units, the two Atlas Copco compressors save BSTS USD 10,400 per year in energy costs. The units were quickly installed and have been easy to maintain with their long service intervals.
After one year of use, our technicians have confirmed the quality of the ZR 75 FF air compressor. The service team also responds quickly and gives great support.
