Minimizing aerated wastewater treatment system servicing

Reliability is especially important in the wastewater treatment sector. One is that the blowers have to dependably operate in conditions that are often very harsh. A few design choices are made to ensure a minimum level of service is needed.

Filters

Optimizing the inlet filtration for process air ensures long service intervals. Depending on the blower technology, between every 4,000 and 8,000 running hours, service is needed. That is why blowers have cartridge filters that have a high filtration grade but still feature a low pressure drop at the end of this interval. As a result, the filters not only protect the blower and any downstream equipment (like diffusers) but also guarantee its efficiency.

Oil changes

Another way to protect your operation is with a specially developed blower oil. Because the properties of oil degrade over time and oil filters get clogged, the mix of oils has to be just right. This will ensure an extended lifetime and a top performance even in high temperatures and tough conditions.

For you, this means fewer oil changes and longer service lives for lubricated bearings and gears. In some blowers, an integrated forced lubrication system (complete with an oil cooler) further increases their reliability.

Monitoring and control: taking the step towards predictive maintenance

local controller is integrated into all of our models (either as standard or optional). This will provide you with a great overview of important parameters. They can monitor the performance of the blowers and will be able to detect any abnormalities with enough time for taking the proper action. All key measurements, as well as the blower’s history and any upcoming preventive maintenance, can be consulted locally at any time.

If you have multiple blowers installed at your site, you can opt for a central controller – the Optimizer. It provides optimal flexibility regarding how much each blower is utilized. Is the workload supposed to be distributed evenly? Does the user want to rely more heavily on the most energy-efficient blowers to reduce energy costs? How about reducing the workload of a blower nearing the end of its maintenance cycle? The Optimizer has you covered.

Our SmartLink connectivity service allows you to monitor your blowers remotely. As a result, you can initiate the necessary steps for any required predictive maintenance.
