Management outside the box and inside the SmartBox
FleetLink Connectivity hardware is built into, and connected to the controller of, your compressor, generator or pump. The hardware, SmartBox or CoreBox, retrieves all data from the equipment and sends it directly to your dashboard. There, the data is transformed into actionable data that is easy to process and manage.
All machine details can be tracked once connected. And everything else can be customized to fit your situation: with different hardware solutions and different subscription models (Connect, Core or Smart) (link to anchor Subscription), you’ll only get the data that you need. After subscribing, the data is accessible via our FleetLink Platform or via API – channeled right into your systems for a seamless integration.
With the SmartBox hardware (and Smart Subscription), you can measure:
- GPS location
- Engine load
- Pressure measurements: vessel, regulating pressure, air discharge pressure, network pressure, regulator pressure
- Temperature measurements: LP element outlet and ambient air
- Engine pressure measurements: fuel delivery pressure & engine oil pressure
- Engine temperature measurements: engine coolant, fuel, DEF tank
- Fuel rate and total fuel consumption
- Speeds in RPM: engine speed & engine speed setpoint

What does FleetLink Platform look like?
The available data on your dashboard depends on your particular equipment, hardware and the subscription you choose. Either way, the FleetLink Dashboard or API will give an overview of:
- Actionable Events: you see all equipment statuses and activity in real time, highlighting actionable information on fleet level. This allows you (or us) to take real-time action to avoid downtime and increase efficiency.
- Customizable notifications: you can set up notifications, so the system can proactively trigger notifications of high importance. There’s no need to continuously monitor the platform to follow up on important events anymore!
- Push notifications via mail, FleetLink dashboard or API integration (in your system) in case of triggered warnings.
- Fleet performance overview
- Historic GPS visualization
- Performance improvements
- Time- fencing
- Asset grouping
- Smart Filters
What’s the right subscription model to fit your needs?
Connect
This model requires the CoreBox or SmartBox hardware. It will provide you basic information on the location of the machines and the running hours. You are also able to set up an e-mail notification when service is due.
Core
This model requires the CoreBox or SmartBox hardware. It will provide the insights of the Connect model, with added data on geofencing, map and battery level. You have access to the FleetLink Portal platform, an API, Service Status and reporting. Furthermore, you are provided with full support concerning the platform and the API as well.
Smart
This model requires the SmartBox hardware. It will provide the insights of the Core model, with even more added data on alarms, alerts, Fuel of AdBlue levels, error codes, OEM specific controller and engine information. You are also able to set up e-mail notifications for service due, alarms, fuel and AdBlue level status.

How can I get connected to FleetLink?
If your equipment already has a SmartBox or CoreBox build-in, it’s easy: contact your Service Center to activate your subscription. For older equipment, you can order a retrofit kit with SmartBox or CoreBox, that you can install yourself or have installed by one of our technicians. Check the "Retrofit Options" on this page.
What data can be measured through FleetLink?
The data that you will get to see, depends on three parameters: your equipment sensors and controller, Connectivity hardware (CoreBox or SmartBox) and type of subscription (Connect, Core or Smart).
With the SmartBox hardware, we can measure the below parameters, if available via the controller:
• GPS location
• Engine load
• Pressure measurements: vessel, regulating pressure, air discharge pressure, network pressure, regulator pressure
• Temperature measurements: LP element outlet and ambient air
• Engine pressure measurements: fuel delivery pressure & engine oil pressure
• Engine temperature measurements: engine coolant, fuel, DEF tank
• Fuel rate and total fuel consumption
• Speeds in RPM: engine speed & engine speed setpoint
• Working hours: total and loaded
• Battery voltage
• Diesel particulate filter soot level
• Also: added counters, alarms and alerts from the machine; and rate of receiving data from machine has improved.
The information that you will receive on your dashboard will also be depend on your subscription.
What’s the difference between a SmartBox and a CoreBox?
A SmartBox communicates with your equipment controller and as such can read out many equipment sensor readings and statuses. The SmartBox also reads the GPS location of the unit.
The main difference between the CoreBox and Smartbox, is that the CoreBox doesn’t interact with the machine controller of the machine to get its data. It’s a hardwired solution which uses voltage values and Digital Input to monitor working hours and a basic alarm. The CoreBox module itself has a GPS component so that it can also send location details through. The Smartbox, on the other hand, interacts with the controller and therefore can provide much more details on the status of the machine.
A CoreBox does not link with the equipment controller and is counting hours of operation (time the CoreBox is powered) and GPS location.
How does the API work?
Whenever you subscribe to FleetLink, either with Core or Smart, you can enable an API service. This allows you to pull in the information of FleetLink into you own system or portal. In FleetLink we support 2 types of API which you can pull to get the latest status of your machines. The first one is the AEMP 2.0 version (ISO compliant), which is often considered an industry standard for telematics. On top of this we provide an “extended API” which uses the same format and logic but is extended to share even more details.
How much does a FleetLink subscription cost?
It depends on the subscription model that you choose. There are 3 different subscription models Connect, Core or Smart. Read more on this page. Connect and Core subscription can be offered on any telematics hardware. A Smart subscription is limited to equipment with the SmartBox hardware installed. Contact your nearest service center for a quote.
What types of subscriptions exist? And what is the difference?
There are 3 different subscription models Connect, Core or Smart. The Connect subscription is free and allow the device to send limited updates which can be visualized in your PowerConnect tool, this subscription doesn’t give access to the FleetLink platform.
For the Core and Smart subscriptions, you do get access to the FleetLink portal and all its functionalities:
☑ Visualize and monitor your machines
☑ Check overall Fleet utilization status
☑ Follow up on maintenance needs
☑ Set up your geo-fences
☑ Set-up notifications for specific machines or events
☑ Activate API
☑ Create sub-accounts or add new users
The difference between Smart and Core, is the availability of data that is made available. On Core we submit GPS location, Battery voltage, running hour information and can track a general alarm while on the Smart subscription we can follow up on much more datapoints:
☑ GPS location
☑ Engine load
☑ Pressure measurements: vessel, regulating pressure, air discharge pressure, network pressure, regulator pressure
☑ Temperature measurements: LP element outlet and ambient air
☑ Engine pressure measurements: fuel delivery pressure & engine oil pressure
☑ Engine temperature measurements: engine coolant, fuel, DEF tank
☑ Fuel rate and total fuel consumption
☑ Speeds in RPM: engine speed & engine speed setpoint
☑ Working hours: total and loaded
☑ Battery voltage
☑ Diesel particulate filter soot level
The availability of this data will depend on the machine type and whether or not your unit is equipped with the necessary sensors to capture this data. If you want to have a specific overview of the available data, please get in touch with your local representative.
Will the subscription automatically renew?
The subscription will automatically be extended for a successive period of 12 months starting from the renewal date unless the Customer gives Atlas Copco notice that he does not want to renew the subscription. The renewal date is defined as the day following the last day of the existing subscription.
Where do our devices work?
The CoreBox and Smartbox are connected via cellular networks and can operate internationally. However, it’s important that a network is available in the area in which machine is operated. The CoreBox can use 4G (LTE-M1), Nb IoT or 2G whereas the SmartBox uses 3G or 2G networks.
Can I connect my older equipment?
Sure, we have a retrofit Kit available with the SmartBox. Retrofit packages include the hardware with a SIM card, cables and antennas. The retrofit comes with an initial 1st year subscription (data access through FleetLink portal and/or API). This subscription can be extended after 1 year (not included in the retrofit package).
