Our client, operating throughout Iraq since 2011, has become a leader in IT solutions and fiber cable services. With the FTTH (Fiber to the Home) project in Erbil, the company aimed to provide high-speed internet services to residential complexes but encountered significant technical challenges during the project. The success of the project depended on the secure underground installation of fiber optic cables over long distances. However, each cabling operation required different air pressure and volume, depending on factors such as distance, cable type, and duct diameter.

At this stage, a reliable, flexible, and high-performance compressor solution was essential to ensure the smooth progress of the fiber cable installation process.

To overcome these challenges, Atlas Copco proposed the XAHS 400 compressor model. Equipped with PACE technology, this model allowed for adjustable pressure and air volume between 5 and 12 bar, ensuring it operated precisely according to the needs at every stage. Thanks to PACE technology, the compressor could easily adjust the required pressure and airflow based on the cable distance, duct width, and fiber size.

With the XAHS 400 compressor model, gained several key advantages:

  • Flexibility and Ease of Use: PACE technology enabled the quick and easy adjustment of the compressor’s pressure and airflow to meet the demands of each task. This flexibility enhanced the team’s efficiency on-site.
  • High Performance and Reliability: The variable pressure settings allowed fiber cables to be blown safely over both short and long distances. Despite ever-changing conditions, the cabling operations proceeded seamlessly and without interruption.
  • Faster Project Completion: The adjustable pressure and airflow accelerated the cable installation process, allowing the project to be completed within the projected timeframe. This speed not only increased efficiency but also resulted in cost savings.

Atlas Copco’s XAHS 400 compressors played a pivotal role in the FTTH project. PACE technology significantly contributed to making the fiber optic cable installation process more reliable, faster, and flexible, providing substantial support to the success of the project.
