The problem

A leading skincare product company in Italy faced a critical issue in its production line. The process of incorporating high-density hyaluronic acid into their skincare products was challenging due to the viscous nature of the product.

 

The viscosity led to frequent clogging resulting in significant product loss and increased production times. These issues posed a risk to the final product’s safety and effectiveness.

 

When they brought this issue to their partner and requested an immediate solution, they found themselves trapped in a back-and-forth of endless discussions without any actual action being taken.

That is why they decided to look for an alternative. When we visited the company , we started an in-depth analysis of their production process and we were able to recognize the issue. The existing filters were becoming caked with the product very prematurely and needed a different filter matrix to effectively remove particles, whilst being able to handle he viscous nature of the liquid, to prevent premature blinding and blocking. We proposed the use of PFG series filter cartridges, a solution specifically designed to handle high- viscosity substances like hyaluronic acid. This increased production uptime due to reduced filter changes, along without detrimentally effecting the filtration performance in the application and still removing the target particulate as required.
