Atlas Copco D-booster helps bring production back to 100% for PET Bottling Company

In most PET bottling facilities, demand can change drastically with the seasons. A major beverage company tackled this issue with a Band-Aid approach. An extra backup compressor that they could move around between sites to keep up with demand and unexpected breakdowns. During one peak season, one of the company’s high-pressure systems suffered a breakdown, which reduced their production rate by almost 50%. Due to logistics and workload, their backup compressor could not operate the plant at 100% production therefore was unable to help in this emergency. Reactively, they increased production in nearby facilities to supply the demand, overworking other compressors and putting them at risk. It was time for a better solution. Fortunately, Atlas Copco Rental has 24/7 service and was able to assist with a rental solution immediately. Atlas Copco Rental supplied a temporary diesel driven PTS 1600 compressor and a 650 psi booster, which not only allowed the customer to operate at full production capacity, the extra air from the low-pressure compressor was enough to rest some of their stationary equipment. This allowed time for repairs and maintenance. The PTS 1600 was installed with an extra diesel tank and all refueling operations included, giving the customer the opportunity to resume operations and focus on THEIR value-added operations, leaving all things air related to us. In the end, this emergency operation turned into a planned maintenance process for all sites. Bringing in a total solution that increased efficiency while giving them peace of mind.
