Founded in Sweden in 1919, Electrolux is today one of the world's leading home appliances manufacturers and as such, also one of Atlas Copco’s key appliances accounts. Electrolux helps shape the daily lives of millions of customers across 120 countries. In 40 production facilities around the world, Electrolux produces over 60 million appliances that range from refrigerators and freezers to ovens, air purifiers, and washing machines.

The Electrolux refrigerator plant in Susegana, Italy, has a long track record of incorporating innovative Atlas Copco smart connected assembly tools and solutions in their manufacturing process.

With the objective to increase productivity and operator ergonomics, the decision was taken to invest in Atlas Copco handheld Screw Feeding systems. The goal was to reduce operator fatigue and at the same time, increase productivity and product quality.

"We see tremendous value in utilizing Atlas Copco Screw Feeding technology solutions to improve our productivity but also create a desirable and ergonomic work environment for our operators"

Francesco Giusto , Lean Engineering Manager
responsible for driving automation transformation at the Susegana plant

The installed SF-V-36 Step Feeders reduce heavy noise emissions on the shop floor thanks to removing vibratory bowls and the used HTM-32 series handheld tightening modules support the operators to increase ergonomics and enhance the product quality. This is further supported by the installation of Atlas Copco Tensor SL tools with high precision torque and angle measurement. All tools are pre-programmed with the needed tightening parameters and are connected to the Power Focus 6000 controller. This in turn communicates with the Electrolux Manufacturing Execution System reporting all tightening data for traceability and quality control.
