This method of verifying torque output is time consuming, difficult, and not efficient for a multitude of reasons; the most important being that while the tool being tested is offline, a spare tool is often required, or the entire line must be halted. We’re here to let you know there’s a better solution for quality assurance processes in low torque applications.
Atlas Copco’s QA Station MicroTorque (MT) is a portable station comprised of an MTF6000 controller, an MT-TS static transducer, a 36V battery, and an ergonomic carrying handle. This mobile solution completely optimizes the torque verification process for clutch, current-controlled, and transducerized MT screwdrivers. Even those not manufactured by Atlas Copco.
It’s smart – real-time result feedback, detailed data reports
The QA Station MT transforms the quality assurance process for MT assembly lines, boosting the quality, control, and visibility of the QA process itself. By providing a deeper insight into the torque verification process, along with the ability to customize parameter views during verification, QA Station MT caters to the production needs of your specific assembly line.
QA Station MT allows you to configure verification programs that will automatically run tests, documenting specific torque results, limits, and more. It also can connect to a barcode reader to scan critical information (including tool/controller serial numbers, station IDs, operator IDs, etc.). With live result feedback provided on-screen, you can expect a substantial reduction in operator error, and a substantial boost in traceability. In just one click, a detailed digital report with up to 10,000 results can be exported for further error-proofing and traceability purposes.
It’s flexible – highly portable, improved accessibility on the line
Even today, with Industry 4.0 making its way through every manufacturing industry, it’s common to see low torque assembly lines using simple torque meters. Meters like these do not allow for data collection, they have no recording capabilities, and majority of them require connection to a power outlet, limiting an operator’s ability to move around the assembly line.
Enter the QA Station MT. It’s lightweight, durable, and easy to transport around the production floor. Where traditional torque meters are bulky and heavy, our portable solution is just the opposite. With a robust, ergonomic carrier, operators will have no issue accessing areas of the assembly line that were once unreachable using traditional meters. What’s more, QA Station MT is powered by a 36V battery, which allows for up to 16 hours of use. In other words, that’s a full day of production on one charge.
It’s connected – multiple ways to connect, easy automation integration
The QA Station MT can be used in three different ways: through USB Sync mode, Barcode Scan mode, or Standalone mode. USB syncing is the most advanced method of connection, though it’s only applicable for Smart MT tools using the MTF6000 controller. With this method, all pre-programmed verification programs for the connected tool are displayed on the QA controller. Operators can then activate a verification program directly from QA Station MT.
The second most advanced method of use is through Barcode Scan mode. By scanning an on-screen barcode displayed by the MTF6000 controller, all program data is transferred to the QA Station MT. For non-Smart clutch tools, or tools not manufactured by Atlas Copco, it is possible to generate a barcode label (using ToolsTalk MT software) with all the program parameters and tool information. And finally, our portable, intuitive quality assurance station for low torque assembly allows for easy integration into automated stations, unlocking major uptime and productivity gains in your production.
