Atlas Copco Power Technique's Generator Specialist Paul Webster Elected onto AMPS Council
Atlas Copco Power Technique are extremely proud of our Business Development Manager, Paul Webster, who has not only recently been promoted but has the honour of being an elected AMPS Council Member.
We caught up with Paul to find out more about his recent achievements;
Congratulations on your new position as an AMPS Council Member, how did that come about, what was involved in the application process?
AMPS, The Association of Manufacturers and suppliers of Power generating Systems, is important to myself and to Atlas Copco Power Technique, as it helps members maintain the highest technical standards, quality and customer support. The process to become a council member is done via a ballot system where AMPS members get the opportunity to vote. There are 15 positions on the AMPS council with five places up for re-election each year. This year saw a record-breaking number of entries, so it feels even more of an honour to have been elected.
So now you have been working for Atlas Copco for over two years, how are you finding it and what have been your highlights so far?
I always say that people make a company great and I have the privilege to work alongside some of the best. It makes my job a lot easier when you have a fantastic support network. There have been many highlights, however the 2019 ‘Powering the Future Event’ in Belgium would probably be the best because of the immense innovation.
Tell us a little more about yourself, why Generators and when did you know they were your calling?
I first began my career in Power Generation over 22 years ago, starting as a Rental Manager working for major plant hire company that specialised in the temporary power sector. It really opened my eyes to how much we all rely on electricity and just how important generators are in supporting all types of applications. Whether it be the likes of critical power to hospitals or providing generators to the events industry, every day is different and varied, and finding the right Power Solution is what I enjoy the most!
Congratulations on your new role within Atlas Copco as Generator Sales and Business Development Manager, UK and Ireland. How are you feeling about your up and coming role (starting 1st September)?
I am really excited and looking forward to the challenge. We have some great new products like our Stage V generators and soon to be launched our battery storage units. Working with these products and complimented with a great team will surely open new doors.
Which Power Technique product would you best describe yourself as?
This would be the QAS 5 generator because it’s ultra-quiet, like me LOL, but delivers exceptionally well when required!
