Do you like the idea of getting a new, energy efficient compressor with 20% off the price?
Well, this is a possibility with the 24/25 NISEP scheme! Power NI has secured funding from the Northern Ireland Sustainable Energy Programme (NISEP) to allow businesses in Northern Ireland to get a grant to save 20% of the cost of purchasing Variable Speed Drive compressor technology during 2024/2025.
Which Atlas Copco products does the 20% grant apply to?
- Variable speed drive compressors - this includes oil-injected and oil-free air compressors and air blowers. (Upgrading to integrated rather than external VSDs could also qualify for the grant and provide additional energy savings.)
- Sonic leak detection - Check for compressed air leaks with an ultrasonic air leak detection check
- Steam or heated regeneration dryers – this includes our BD & BD ZP heated blower purge desiccant air dryer range
- Turbo blowers - this includes our oil-free ZB air blower range
How to apply for a grant
The grant scheme will open for applications on 8th April, so why not be prepared and do some research now on how much you could save by upgrading to a new Atlas Copco VSD compressor?
You must have a grant offer letter from Power NI before placing an order. T&Cs and the application form can be found on their website.
Upgrade from a fixed speed to a VSD compressor
If you currently have a fixed-speed air compressor and upgrade it to a VSD compressor you would qualify for the grant. You may also be able to get support from the NISEP scheme if you replace an older VSD compressor with a newer VSD if it shows energy savings. How would you know about the energy savings? What are the benefits of VSD technology?
For operations where the demand for compressed air fluctuates (which is around 88% of all compressed air installations), a VSD air compressor automatically adjusts its motor speed to match air demand, providing significant energy savings, which leads to cost savings and a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions.
