COVID-19 inspires roadshow in Pakistan
COVID-19 has not only changed the dynamics of business around the globe but has also transformed the way people live and interact with each other. In dealing with the consequences of the pandemic, Pakistan is no exception.
Atlas Copco Pakistan is among those organizations that adopted cloud-based computing earlier and promoted the use of digital media for both internal and external communication.
At the same time, a fair majority of our clientage struggled in accessing internet connectivity due to remote factory locations, which led to a severe impact on the business. This situation not only placed a huge impact on the revenue stream coupled with an economic slowdown but also built the opportunity to connect with the customers for partnership and expanding business avenues.
The cement sector was one of the few that managed to continue its production. The cement manufacturing sites are located far from populated areas with staff stationed within their premises even during the lockdown
With the lockdown all over the country and airlines being suspended, the Aftersales team decided to travel by road for customer visits. The roadshow offered the clientele to view-in depth the possibilities of energy saving that include energy recovery, pressure reduction, leakage reduction, and optimization of operations through the correct choice of a control and regulation system, which results in a significant reduction in cost and carbon footprint
The plug, play, and display features helped customers to visualize the energy savings strategy and create transparency in their environmental reporting.
The team led by the Compressor Technique Service After-sales Manager, networked with the executives of the cement industry in finding out prospects for energy saving, system efficiency, and optimization of installed compressed air equipment.
With the reduced production and taking equipment out of operation and back into operation, the proposition for stopping and re-starting air compressors, dryers, and gas generators was shared with them to keep the compressor room optimal health.
Making a journey for six days of about 4000 kilometers, the outcome was remarkable than expected. Exceptional customer interest was received for energy-saving opportunities, optimization, and improvisation of compressed air system efficiency, which resulted in significant economic activity and brought substantial energy saving opportunities for the customers to reduce the overall cost of production.
