We hear from Sanjeev, MD of Sanjeev Modern Rice Mill in Kangayam, Tamil Nadu. A civil engineer and first-generation rice miller, he opted for the rice industry to pursue his interest in entrepreneurship. He came to know that most rice mills follow traditional methods prevailing in the industry, however Sanjeev was keen to implement modern methods starting from construction to the end product for best results.
“The expert recommendation for sortex is the 25hp screw compressor of fixed speed compressor for 384 channel sortex. We consulted with Atlas Copco experts to understand their technology and the potential energy savings. Their team performed various studies include iTrack, energy meter and trial machine. After evaluation of the offering, I chose the sustainable GA18 VSD+. After using the machine for about a year, we found around 28% energy savings and 3 tonnes of carbon reduction.”
