'We were astonished at the accuracy' - PennEngineering identify almost €28,000 potential savings with Atlas Copco leak detection
Atlas Copco leak detection calculated the potential for €28,000 in energy savings across 118 identified leakages for PennEngineering, based in Co. Galway.
PennEngineering has enjoyed a sustained history as a global leader in the fastening industry since their founding in 1942. PEM®, the company’s leading brand has been recognized as the premier product in the thin sheet fastening industry for over 75 years.
In April 2022, they decided to utilise an Atlas Copco leak detection survey, in order to identify and quantify the leaks present in their compressed air distribution system. The purpose of this was to repair and save energy.
Atlas Copco's Optimization Engineer, Mark Hayes, performed this survey using specific tools that to detect ultrasonic signal produced by the loss of compressed air, typically inaudible to the human ear.
At Atlas Copco Airscan is the first step to Optimizing our customers efficiency. The Atlas Copco tool uses 124 microphones to form a very accurate acoustic image in the desired direction.
