Ambient air always contains some contaminants – from tiny particles to moisture and traces of oil. As a result, so does compressed air.
In fact, because this air is compressed into a smaller space than it previously occupied, the amount of contaminants per cubic meter increases greatly.
In addition, more contaminants might be added during the compression process, for example, traces of the oil used for the lubrication of the compressor.
