High pressure compressors in Egypt up to 45 bar

Learn about the energy efficient high pressure compressors from Atlas Copco with cost savings.

Cost savings on high pressure compressors

For energy efficiency and cost savings in your high pressure Compressed Air applications consider our ZP PET air-cooled compressors or our ZD Hybrid compressor solutions.

  • High pressure compressed air up to 45 bar (652.67 psi)
  • Air-cooled (ZP compressors) and Water-cooled (ZD compressors)
  • ISO 22000 certified for food safety
  • ISO 8573-1 CLASS 0 certified for zero contamination
  • ISO 50001 certified for energy efficiency
  • 35% MORE energy savings through patented VSD+ technology

Our customers have had great success when using our ZP PET air-cooled compressors and our ZD Hybrid compressor in applications where Polyethylene terephthalate or PET plastics are manufactured as well as applications where Water Transmission systems require high pressure compressed to manage the water hammer effect.

Air-cooled vs Water-cooled compressors

ZP-high-pressure-compressor
High pressure air compressors generate a lot of heat as they function, which is why compressed air needs to be cooled either with air or a liquid like water. Water-cooled compressors use coolant from an external unit to cool the compressed air while also cooling other materials and machine elements that are in contact with it. Water-cooled air compressors tend to incur higher costs related to electricity and water treatment. Air-cooled compressors use air to perform the same function. An air-cooled circuit reduces the hot air with a fan and radiator. They are some of the most common air compressors making them more accessible than water-cooled systems. Air-cooled compressors don’t have the costs associated with water and they have a lower upfront costs and installation cost. They do tend to have a higher power source requirement, however. But where water-cooled systems have an advantage is that they allow you to produce compressed air at maximum purity levels for applications where purity is critical. This is because unlike with an air-cooled system, in a water-cooled system the cooling process does not run the risk of contaminants being carried into the compressed air stream. And so, the water-cooled ZD Hybrid compressor solutions are designed for maximum purity. They are oil-free, ISO 22000 certified for food safety and ISO 8573-1 CLASS 0 certified for zero contamination. Our air-cooled ZP compressor solutions on the other hand are also oil-free but designed for immediate ‘plug and play’ installation in scenarios where air purity levels aren’t a critical issue.

Energy efficiency and cost savings

Both the ZD and ZP high pressure air compressors are ISO 50001 certified for energy efficiency management. They also come with our patented variable speed drive technology called VSD+.

Over 80% of a compressor’s life cycle cost is taken up by the energy it consumes. Moreover, the generation of compressed air can account for more than 40% of a plant’s total electricity bill. To cut your energy costs, Atlas Copco pioneered Variable Speed Drive (VSD) technology in the compressed air industry.

Atlas Copco's VSD technology closely follows the air demand by automatically adjusting the motor speed. This results in energy savings of up to 35%. The Life Cycle Cost of a compressor can be cut by an average of 22%. In addition, lowered system pressure with VSD minimizes energy use across your production dramatically. Learn more about VSD+ here.

Working in tandem with VSD+ both the ZP PET air-cooled compressor and ZD Hybrid compressor have design features that improve cost savings further.

The ZP uses air cooled technology and IE3 TEFC motors suitable for a 50°C ambient environment. This technology makes accessories such as cooling water towers, cooling water pumps redundant, resulting in lower costs and less space. Atlas Copco has also integrated sensors to optimize the availability of the machine, leading to increased reliability and lower maintenance costs.

The ZD uses a hybrid combination of well-known oil-free screw, adsorption dryer and booster technology designed to increase system efficiency and reliability. The ZD hybrid solution uses a 4-stage configuration, which is on average 10% more efficient than a 3-stage conventional piston compressor. It is also possible to implement additional energy or heat recovery systems, which can recover on average 95% of the energy used to compress your air in most industrial conditions.

How to purchase the right high pressure air compressor for you

We recommend getting in touch with your local Atlas Copco representative and consulting with them.

When consulting with our team, talk about the specifics of your application like your air quality requirements, your operating hours, and your required maximum pressure. This will let the consultant suggest options that meet your criteria and budget range. Remember that high blow pressures create more heat within the air compressor which could mean shorter maintenance levels and higher energy costs.
