Petrochemical pioneer
The first integrated petrochemical complex in Kazakhstan was put into operation at the end of 2022. This plant utilizes available volumes of gas from the Tengiz field as a feedstock, enabling the production of high-value-added petrochemical products for both domestic and export markets
Forte Oil Field Services, working as a contractor at the plant, was confronted with a major issue when the complex’s stationary equipment failed, cutting off the critical air supply needed for production. They immediately called upon Atlas Copco Rental to provide a quick and effective solution to the problem.
Deploying critical equipment
To address the urgent need for air supply, Atlas Copco supplied ten 100% oil-free air compressors (PTS916), renowned for their reliability and capability to deliver 25,000 m³/h of air flow. These diesel-powered units were equipped with all necessary accessories, including hoses and fittings, to ensure full operational capability.
Moreover, with the continuous support of four dedicated Atlas Copco engineers providing round-the-clock technical assistance, the setup was seamlessly integrated into the production line.
Challenge accepted, solution applied
By strategically positioning the compressors within the existing infrastructure, disruptions in the plant’s operations were effectively mitigated. This setup not only facilitated continuous production but also upheld the high standards required in a petrochemical environment, where the quality of air can significantly impact both production quality and safety.
